Do you want to try Botox but never dared?

Did you know that Botox is the most popular cosmetic treatment in America today and one of the fasted growing procedures in the UK?

Read on to find out why……

1. Botox works.

Fed-up of spending a fortune on expensive cosmetic creams that promise you smooth, wrinkle free skin?

Do you look in the mirror each morning and frown at your lines?

Cosmetic anti-ageing creams have absolutely now scientific evidence that they work. In the majority of cases they don’t work. If they did, they would be classed as pharmaceuticals and you would need a prescription.

Botox has a vast body of evidence to support how effective it is at smoothing away lines, particularly frown lines, forehead lines and crows feet.

2. Botox prevents further wrinkles.

I have several girls in their twenties who love their Botox. They certainly enjoy the eye brow lift and skin tightening effect they feel, but most of all they want Botox because it will prevent lines caused by repeated frowning, squinting etc, ever developing in the first place.

Ladies and men who are 40 upwards may have existing deep lines. Botox smoothes and softens these lines but certainly prevents further worsening of deep frown lines, crows feet and forehead lines.

3. Botox works as an anti-depressant

Crazy but true! A recent study carried out at Cardiff University demonstrated that people receiving Botox to prevent frown lines reported a positive effect on their mood within 2 weeks. This was compared to other people also having aesthetic treatments such as dermal fillers, who did not notice any effect on their mood. The study concluded that the increase in mood levels on the botox group was due to the effect the botox has on relaxing the muscles responsible for frowning as frowning is associated with negative emotions. This is not actually the only study of its kind as other previous studies have also demonstrated the positive effect Botox can have on mood.
If you’re feeling a bit low, why not try some Botox?!

4. Botox is a quick and easy procedure that can easily be performed in your lunch hour.

Botox is not a complicated procedure. Providing you are in the hands of an expert with a good medical background, the procedure can be performed quickly and relatively painlessly! A full medical history must be taken first to ensure that you can safely receive Botox and then the practitioner needs to spend a little time looking at your face and discussing with you the best areas to treat for your face and work out how to obtain the best possible result for you. Most people do not find Botox painful. It is a very fine needle that is used to inject tiny amounts of Botox and if an ice pack is used this is virtually pain free. It is very quick and there is very little to see after which means you can go straight back to work.

5. Botox has an excellent safety record.

Botox is increasingly used in general medicine for a multitude of medical problems. It can be used to treat stiff necks, writers cramp, squints, excessive sweating, even for some types of incontinence! It is seen as a very useful drug as it effectively relaxes muscles and causes very little side effects. The amounts we use in cosmetic procedures is tiny and unlikely to cause any effects on the rest of your body. Botox was discovered over a hundred years ago and has been used in general medicine for over 20 years with an excellent safety record.

6. Botox is so natural that everyone notices but nobody knows…..

People love their Botox. Contrary to some public opinion it is an extremely natural looking treatment. Many of my clients will not even tell their husbands they have had Botox! Husbands have no idea why their wives suddenly appear smoother, more relaxed looking with a fresher face. Makeup glides on more easily, your skin is smoother. If you prefer a more natural look, wearing no makeup looks better on smooth skin after a little bit of Botox! You may not think you know anyone who has Botox but the likelihood is that you do and they just haven’t told you!

7. The more often you have Botox, the longer it will last

Each time we inject a muscle with Botox, the muscle weakens. As the Botox begins to wear off, the muscle gradually regains its movement. If you have Botox regularly every 3-4 months, the muscle never gets chance to fully recover its strength and becomes used to being in a weakened state. The effect is that although the Botox has worn off, the muscle remains weaker for longer, which results in the Botox effects lasting longer for you. I have ladies who only need Botox every 7-8 months. The Botox itself probably wore off after about 3 months but the muscle remains in its weakened state for longer. If you frown a lot, it is probably a habit rather than you feeling cross all the time!

Having Botox will help you to break the habit and Botox again will appear to last longer. Simon Cowell reportedly only needs his Botox once a year! So basically, if you decide to have botox regularly, the longer you have it, the less you will need.
